RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Monday visited Quetta Garrison, where he addressed student officers and faculty members at the Command and Staff College Quetta and emphasised the need for preparedness in the face of evolving warfare challenges.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the chief of army staff appreciated the institution’s high standards of training, intellectual rigour and professionalism, describing them as the hallmark of the college.
He expressed satisfaction over the performance of the college’s graduates, noting that they had consistently distinguished themselves through professional competence and dedication to duty.
During his address, the army chief highlighted the rapidly transforming character of modern warfare and underscored the importance of keeping pace with emerging technologies, multi-domain operations, tri-services synergy and future battlefield challenges.
He advised officers to continuously enhance their professional skills and train their troops to effectively respond to changing modes of warfare while maintaining the highest standards of preparedness and operational excellence.
Later, the field marshal interacted with officers and troops deployed in Balochistan and reviewed the prevailing security environment.
Reaffirming the resolve of the armed forces against militancy, he said the Pakistan Armed Forces, with the support of the people, remained fully committed to eliminating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
He said Pakistan’s progress could not be obstructed through propaganda, fake news or externally sponsored terrorism, adding that hostile forces attempting to destabilise the country through proxies and disinformation would ultimately fail due to the resilience of the state and unity of the people.
Highlighting the importance of sustainable peace and stability in Balochistan, the army chief said long-term progress depended on a people-centric approach, inclusive development and improved governance alongside security measures.
He also appreciated the efforts of the Government of Balochistan aimed at public welfare, socio-economic uplift and strengthening ties between the state and the people.
The field marshal further lauded the morale, operational readiness and professional commitment of officers and troops serving in the province.
Earlier, upon his arrival in Quetta, the army chief was received by the commander of Quetta Corps.
