PkMAP expresses concern over rising crime, demands action in Zhob

ZHOB: The Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Zhob chapter has expressed serious concern over increasing incidents of lawlessness, theft, and street crime in the district, saying the local administration and police appear unable to ensure the safety of citizens.

In a district press release, party representatives said incidents involving the theft of motorcycles, vehicles, and other valuable items have become frequent, while burglaries in residential areas are also being reported in broad daylight.

They cited a recent incident in New Abadi, where jewellery and household items were stolen from the residence of Dr Abdul Samad Kharoti, as an example of deteriorating law and order. Despite an FIR being registered, the stolen property has not been recovered nor have any arrests been made, raising serious questions over police performance.

The PkMAP leaders said such incidents reflect a weakening of the state’s writ in the area, adding that citizens are increasingly feeling insecure.

They urged the district administration and police to fulfill their constitutional and legal responsibilities, take effective action against criminal elements, and restore public confidence through improved security measures.

The party warned that if authorities fail to address the situation, it would be compelled to launch protests with public support and continue raising its voice for the rights and protection of citizens at all forums.
