In a devastating explosion in Mastung, the northwest district of Balochistan, the death toll has risen to seven, with the victims including five children, a police official, and a passerby. The blast occurred near a police mobile unit at the junction of the civil hospital and a girls’ school.
According to police reports, the improvised explosive device (IED) was planted on a motorcycle and detonated remotely. The explosion took place at approximately 8:35 AM.
Immediately following the blast, the injured were rushed to the civil hospital and Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Hospital, with five victims later transferred to the civil hospital in Quetta. One of the injured individuals is reported to be in critical condition.
The Chief Minister of Balochistan expressed his sorrow over the incident, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen police officer and the innocent children. He emphasized that terrorists will not be granted any leniency and condemned the targeting of innocent children , promising that accountability for the blood of the innocent will be sought.
