QUETTA: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Sunday visited the Trauma Centre in Quetta to inquire after those injured in the Chaman Phatak bomb blast.
During the visit, the chief minister met the injured, enquired about their health, and extended prayers and good wishes for their early recovery. He also met the families of the victims and received a detailed briefing on the treatment being provided and overall medical arrangements.
Secretary Health Balochistan Mujib-ur-Rehman Panezai and Trauma Centre Managing Director Dr Malik Kamran Kakar briefed the chief minister on the medical facilities and ongoing treatment of the injured.
Mr Bugti directed health authorities to ensure the provision of the best, immediate and high-quality medical care to all victims, stressing that no negligence or delay in treatment would be tolerated.
He said the government would bear full responsibility for the care of the injured until their complete recovery.
Condemning the blast, the chief minister said such “cowardly acts of terrorism” could not weaken the resolve of the nation.
He said the fight against terrorism was not only the responsibility of security forces but a collective struggle of the entire nation.
Mr Bugti said Pakistan and Balochistan had rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the war against terrorism, adding that these sacrifices would not go in vain.
He termed attacks on innocent civilians under the name of ideology or freedom a “foreign agenda” aimed at destabilising peace.
The chief minister said national unity and collective resolve would defeat terrorism, and sacrifices made for lasting peace in Balochistan would be remembered in history.
