QUETTA: The Balochistan Home Department has issued a formal notification announcing relaxation in lockdown restrictions across the province on the occasion of Eidul Azha.
According to the notification, the relaxation will remain effective until June 1, during which all shops, business centres, shopping malls and markets across the province will remain open to facilitate citizens in Eid shopping and other necessities.
Officials said the restrictions had earlier been imposed under the federal government’s energy conservation policy, which introduced measures related to business hours and lockdown arrangements across the country.
However, keeping in view public convenience ahead of Eidul Azha, the provincial government decided to ease the restrictions, the officials added.
Meanwhile, traders and citizens welcomed the move and expressed hope that commercial activities would gain momentum during the festive season and provide people with greater ease in shopping.
