Balochistan launches first AI lab for women entrepreneurs

QUETTA: The first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab dedicated to women entrepreneurs has been inaugurated in Balochistan, marking what officials described as a significant step towards digital inclusion and economic empowerment in the province.

In the initial phase, training has begun for 20 women entrepreneurs, with authorities planning to gradually expand the programme to all districts across the province.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said the establishment of the AI Lab was a milestone for economic stability and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to providing women with opportunities in education, skills development and employment.

He said the provincial government was pursuing multiple initiatives aimed at women’s empowerment, including the Pink Scooty scheme, scholarships, easy loans, and now the AI Lab, all intended to promote financial independence and dignity.

The chief minister stressed that the development, education and economic empowerment of women and youth remained among the top priorities of the provincial government.

He added that such initiatives would not only strengthen the role of women in society but also contribute to the province’s broader economic growth and prosperity.
