Quetta: Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail emphasized the need for practical steps beyond speeches at a seminar on women farmers and economic development, organized by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) at Governor House Quetta.
He thanked Federal Minister Syed Imran Ahmed Shah for announcing 200 scholarships for underprivileged students of Women University and the provision of sewing machines and wheelchairs for the needy and disabled across the province.
The Governor praised PPAF’s role in community-based rural development, women’s leadership, and market access. He urged equal recognition of women in all sectors, including agriculture, economy, education, and politics, and stressed preserving the dignity of poor students and female farmers while supporting them.
The seminar was attended by federal and provincial ministers, women entrepreneurs, scholars, development partners, and female farmers. Commemorative shields and grants were distributed at the end of the event.
