University of Turbat completes PREE cycle under HEC framework

Turbat : University of Turbat has completed the Program Review for Effectiveness and Enhancement (PREE) cycle for the internal quality assurance of its undergraduate programmes under the Higher Education Commission’s PSG-2023 framework, university officials said.

The review process concluded with site visits conducted on May 14, during which separate review panels evaluated 12 undergraduate programmes as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen academic quality and institutional effectiveness.

According to the university, the panels examined a range of academic and administrative records, including Self-Assessment Reports (SARs), programme and course files, quality assurance and monitoring mechanisms, laboratory and library facilities, and other academic support resources.

The review teams also interacted with faculty members and students to assess teaching practices, learning outcomes and the overall academic environment.

At the conclusion of the visits, the panels presented their observations and recommendations to Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Gul Hasan and Director of the Quality Enhancement Cell Dr Riaz Ahmed.

The recommendations focused on improving student admissions and retention, strengthening academic monitoring and advising systems, enhancing documentation and record management practices, expanding academic opportunities in emerging disciplines, and upgrading laboratory, library, digital and internet facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the vice chancellor appreciated the feedback provided by the review panels and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to implementing the recommendations aimed at further improving academic standards.

Dr Ahmed said the successful completion of the PREE cycle during the academic year 2025–26 reflected the university’s continued commitment to strengthening internal quality assurance systems and promoting continuous academic improvement.
