LAHORE – Karachi Basketball Association (KBBA) President Ghulam Abbas Jamal Chaudhry, in consultation with Secretary Zahid Malik, has announced the teams for the Berger Paints Trophy Defence Day Girls and Boys Basketball Festival. The festival will feature competitions in different age categories, with teams named after prominent national heroes, including Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, Major Tufail Muhammad Shaheed, Sowar Muhammad Hussain Shaheed, Major Muhammad Sharif Shaheed, Colonel Lalak Jan Shaheed and Maryam Mukhtar Shaheed. The announced squads include players competing in Under-14, Under-15 and Under-21 categories. The organisers have directed all selected players to report at 3:30pm to Haji Muhammad Ashraf Yahya and Zaeema Khatoon at the International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh.
Four matches will be played as part of the Defence Day festival, which is being organised to commemorate the sacrifices and services of Pakistan’s national heroes.
Mukhtar-e-Kar Fahim Mangi will cut the ceremonial cake, while Deputy Commissioner Keamari Abdul Sattar Hokra will distribute prizes among the successful teams and players.
The event is expected to provide young basketball players an opportunity to showcase their talent and competitive skills.
