Pakistani Hajj pilgrims begin arriving in Makkah after Madinah stay

MAKKAH: The first groups of Pakistani Hajj pilgrims, after completing their stay and Ziarat in Madinah, have started arriving in Makkah Mukarramah for the next phase of their pilgrimage, officials said on Sunday.

According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, pilgrims were warmly received upon arrival with flower petals, Aab-e-Zamzam, dates and refreshments at their residences.

A ministry spokesperson said the pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and hospitality extended to them.

Director General Hajj Abdul Wahab Soomro, along with senior officials including Chief Coordinator Makkah Dr Mirza Ali Mehsud and Director Hajj Makkah Arif Aslam Rao, visited several residential buildings to review facilities and meet the pilgrims.

Officials inspected accommodation, food and transport arrangements, and inquired about the quality of services being provided to ensure a smooth stay.

The ministry said all preparations for the pilgrims’ first Umrah have been completed under the supervision of the Main Control Office in Makkah.

Dedicated transport to Haram, Haram guides, meal distribution and deployment of Khuddam-ul-Hujjaj at residential buildings have also been arranged.

Hajj officials said all available resources were being utilised to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims and help them perform their religious duties in a peaceful and hassle-free environment.
