QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited the Command and Staff College Quetta, where he addressed faculty members and student officers.
Upon arrival, the prime minister was received by Syed Asim Munir.
In his address, the prime minister lauded the professionalism, operational preparedness and sacrifices of the Pakistan Armed Forces in safeguarding national sovereignty and maintaining peace and stability. He paid tribute to the martyrs and acknowledged the armed forces’ unwavering commitment to the defence of the country.
Referring to “Marka-e-Haq,” the prime minister praised what he described as the armed forces’ response under the leadership of the army chief during recent developments with India. He said Pakistan’s conduct reflected restraint and responsibility in the face of unprovoked aggression, adding that the country’s stance had been acknowledged by the international community.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any misadventure.
The prime minister also said that “Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq” was continuing with full resolve against terrorist groups operating from across the border, aimed at dismantling their networks and infrastructure.
He reiterated Pakistan’s support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Palestine.
Speaking to the participants, the prime minister highlighted the importance of military diplomacy and regional cooperation, noting Pakistan’s role as a “net regional stabiliser” contributing to peace and stability in the region and beyond.
Students from friendly countries were also present during the session.
The prime minister was accompanied by federal ministers for defence, interior and information, as well as the chief minister of Balochistan.
