CM Balochistan Reaffirms Commitment to Development in Barkhan

QUETTA: Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Friday reiterated his government’s commitment to the development of Barkhan district, describing it as his “second home” after Baiker.

He made the remarks during a meeting with tribal leader Mir Abdul Karim Khetran, where they discussed the political and regional situation of the Koh-e-Suleman division, particularly Barkhan. The meeting also reviewed upcoming development priorities for inclusion in the next fiscal year’s budget.

Mir Abdul Karim Khetran appreciated the provincial government for approving key projects in Barkhan, including a 50-bed hospital, and expressed hope that ongoing initiatives would improve basic public services in the area.

The chief minister said uplifting underdeveloped regions remained a top priority, adding that resources were being distributed on a fair basis to improve health, education and infrastructure facilities.

He said the upcoming budget would include need-based projects aimed at accelerating sustainable development and extending basic services to remote areas.
