‘James Bond 007’ shares who could be the next James Bond

Could Robert Pattinson be trading Gotham for the world of 007?

The Batman star has reportedly entered the race to play James Bond, adding another major name to an already crowded shortlist.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pattinson screen-tested for the iconic spy role alongside other contenders, including Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O’Connor.

The tests reportedly took place over the weekend of October 24, with four or five actors believed to be in contention.

Landing the role would be a surprising move for the 40-year-old actor, who is already balancing his DC superhero duties with an impressive lineup of projects.

Pattinson is attached to The Odyssey, Dune: Part Three, Primetime and The Drama, while his previous credits include Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, the Twilight franchise and Robert Eggers’ The Lighthouse.

Still, his chances may have an interesting advantage. Pattinson has already worked with Denis Villeneuve, the director attached to the next Bond film, on Dune: Part Three.

“While the conventional wisdom goes against a world famous Bond, these are unprecedented times in the franchise,” the outlet noted.

There’s no official decision yet, and Amazon has not commented on the reported screen tests.

Meanwhile, Turner has received a public vote of confidence from former 007 Pierce Brosnan, who described his Only Living Boy in New York co-star as “so strong.”
