Security forces foil Gwadar camp attack, kill 10 militants including a woman: ISPR

RAWALPINDI : Security forces have foiled terrorist attempts in Gwadar, killing 10 militants, including a woman, during clearance operations, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to the military’s media wing, India-backed terrorists attempted attacks near the Gabd border crossing and on the outskirts of Gwadar city. Security forces responded promptly and launched clearance operations to neutralise the threat.

The ISPR said 10 militants, including a female operative, were killed during the operations. One civilian was also killed in the terrorist incidents, while several vehicles were damaged.

It added that no security personnel lost their lives during the operations.

According to the statement, the militants sought to harm the people of Balochistan and undermine the province’s development and prosperity.

The ISPR said clearance operations in Gwadar had been completed, restoring law and order and the writ of the state in the affected areas.

The military’s media wing also condemned the involvement of a Baloch woman in terrorist activities, describing it as an offence against the dignity of Baloch traditions. It said that militants were exploiting Baloch women to advance their objectives and propaganda.

It further stated that the people of Balochistan had always rejected those who shed blood in their name and would continue to see through the deception of those seeking to undermine peace.

It added that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam would continue at full pace. Security forces remain committed to the complete eradication of foreign-sponsored terrorism, the ISPR said.
