PakMMAF targets champions through Pakistan Open

LAHORE  –  The Pakistan Open 2026 is emerging as an important platform for the development of mixed martial arts in the country, reflecting the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation’s (PakMMAF) broader commitment to identifying talent, supporting athletes and creating pathways to international competition.

Under the leadership of federation president Omar Ahmed, PakMMAF has focused on building a sustainable structure for the sport, encompassing regional trials, talent identification, national championships and opportunities for fighters to gain valuable competitive experience.

A key priority has been reducing the financial barriers faced by athletes, particularly those travelling from remote areas. By helping arrange and fund essential logistics, including transportation and accommodation, the federation aims to ensure that promising fighters have opportunities to compete regardless of their financial circumstances.

Beyond competition, staging an event such as Pakistan Open 2026 involves extensive coordination, from technical officials and medical arrangements to event production, sponsorship, media coverage and television broadcasting. Such professional exposure can help emerging athletes develop the experience and visibility required to pursue higher-level competitions and professional careers.

The federation’s development efforts have received continued support from Rd Rizwan Aftab Ahmed and his brand ACTIVIT. Their partnership has contributed to the federation’s efforts to organise competitions and expand opportunities for Pakistani MMA athletes, who have started excelling at international level with 360-degree support from ACTIVIT.

The broader objective is to establish an ecosystem in which fighters can be discovered, trained, developed and prepared for international challenges. Collaboration involving PakMMAF, BRAVE Gym and international competition pathways forms part of this ambition. Pakistan’s reported gold and silver medal achievements at the 2026 IMMAF World Cup in Angola have further highlighted the potential of local athletes when talent is supported by coaching, preparation and competitive opportunities. For PakMMAF, the challenge now extends beyond individual tournaments or medal-winning performances. The long-term goal is to develop a system that consistently nurtures promising fighters and prepares them to compete at the highest level.

Pakistan Open 2026 represents another step in that direction, reinforcing the importance of sustained investment, institutional support and strong partnerships in advancing the country’s MMA landscape.
