DR Congo Defence Delegation Calls on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu

ISLAMABAD : A high-level defence delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo, led by Chief of Defence Forces Lt Gen Banza Mwilambwe Jules, called on Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu at Air Headquarters, Islamabad, on Friday.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security and ways to enhance bilateral defence cooperation.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu highlighted the longstanding cordial relations between Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo and stressed the importance of expanding defence ties through greater interaction, training and exchange of expertise between the armed forces.

He also briefed the visiting delegation on the Pakistan Air Force’s indigenous capabilities and efforts towards self-reliance.

Lt Gen Banza Mwilambwe Jules appreciated the professionalism, operational preparedness and high standards of training maintained by the Pakistan Air Force. He expressed interest in its indigenous capabilities and acknowledged the progress achieved through indigenisation and self-reliance.

The visiting dignitary also expressed his desire to benefit from the PAF’s professional expertise as the Democratic Republic of Congo seeks to rebuild and modernise its Air Force.

The visit underscored the shared commitment of Pakistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo to strengthening bilateral defence cooperation and developing enduring institutional ties for regional peace and stability.
