ISPR rejects Indian Army chief’s remarks, warns against regional escalation

Rawalpindi, : The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has strongly rejected recent remarks made by the Indian Chief of Army Staff, describing the statement as provocative, irresponsible and reflective of a “hubristic and jingoistic mindset.”
In a statement issued on Saturday, the ISPR responded to comments attributed to the Indian Army chief suggesting that “Pakistan should decide if it desired to be part of geography and history.”
The military’s media wing stated that Pakistan is “already a country of consequence at global level, a declared nuclear power and an indelible part of South Asia’s geography and history.”
ISPR said the Indian leadership had failed to reconcile with the existence of Pakistan even after eight decades, adding that such thinking had repeatedly pushed South Asia towards wars and regional crises.
The statement termed threats against a sovereign nuclear state as “sheer bankruptcy of cognitive capacities, madness and warmongering,” warning that any attempt at geographic obliteration would have “mutual and comprehensive” consequences.
According to ISPR, responsible nuclear states demonstrate restraint, maturity and strategic sobriety instead of using the language of “civilisational supremacy or national erasure.”
The statement further accused India of being a source of regional instability, alleging involvement in terrorism, transnational assassinations and disinformation campaigns.
ISPR said India’s aggressive posture reflected frustration over its inability to harm Pakistan, particularly after what it described as “Marka-e-Haq.”
The military’s media wing urged India to peacefully coexist with Pakistan and warned that any attempt to target Pakistan could trigger consequences extending beyond the region.
