QUETTA: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Balochistan President Nasrullah Khan Zerey has said that the ninth death anniversary of the party’s late leader and prominent Pashtun nationalist thinker, Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail, will be observed on May 10 in Quetta through a grand public gathering.
Speaking at a joint meeting of the party’s provincial executive and Quetta district executive, Mr Zerey said central, provincial and district leaders would address the gathering and highlight the late leader’s political, national and intellectual contributions.
He directed all regional and primary units, affiliated organisations, workers and supporters of the party to ensure full preparations for the event and make it a success.
He said the anniversary would not only be a commemorative event but also a day to renew ideological commitment, national awareness and political resolve.
The meeting, attended by senior party leaders including provincial Senior Vice President Allah Noor Khan, central secretary Mohtarma Sahiba Bareech, provincial secretary Fakir Khushhal Kasi and former MPA Arifa Siddique, also reviewed preparations for the upcoming provincial committee meeting.
The participants also decided to celebrate the traditional Gul Surkh festival in Harnai on May 3 and formed various organisational and coordination committees to strengthen party activities.
Party leaders paid tribute to Abdul Rahim Khan Mandokhail, describing him as a leading ideological figure of the Pashtun national movement who played a significant role in democratic struggles, constitutional supremacy and political awareness in the region.
