JAFFARABAD: MPA and Parliamentary Secretary for S&GAD Mir Abdul Majeed Badini has said that development work in Jaffarabad is progressing rapidly due to the effective policies of Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, adding that the district is gradually moving towards positive change.

Speaking to the media after meeting citizens in Dera Allah Yar, Mr Badini said he considered himself not just an MPA but a public servant, adding that people had every right to question their elected representatives and demand answers.

He said Nasirabad division was the agricultural hub of Balochistan and its canal system served as the backbone of the local economy. He noted that six major canals in the region played a vital role in agriculture and that farmers’ prosperity was directly linked with the country’s development.

Mr Badini said canal desilting work had already been launched in Nasirabad by MPA Mir Sadiq Umrani, while in Jaffarabad, work worth Rs120 million had started after funds were sought from the chief minister for canal cleaning.

He added that construction and repair of roads in Dera Allah Yar were also under way, while efforts were being made to resolve the city’s longstanding sewerage problems.

He said more development schemes would be included in the next PSDP to make Jaffarabad a truly developed district.
