TURBAT: Pakistan Airports Authority conducted a full-scale airport emergency exercise at Turbat International Airport to assess preparedness and response mechanisms in line with international aviation standards.
The exercise was aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of the Crisis and Emergency Response Plan (CERP), focusing on communication, coordination, command structure and response time during emergencies. Representatives from key institutions, including the Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Army, Airport Security Force and district administration, attended the drill.
Airport Manager Muhammad Ilyas Barrech briefed participants on the exercise, which was followed by a live airside emergency response demonstration. Participating agencies included rescue and fire services, security forces and health authorities.
Officials said the exercise successfully tested operational readiness, ensured timely access to the airfield and helped identify minor gaps for improvement, further strengthening safety standards at the airport.
