Quetta,: The Directorate of Tourism Balochistan marked World Tourism Day 2025 with a vibrant celebration in Quetta under the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.” The event brought together government officials, tourism experts, academics, and civil society representatives to spotlight Balochistan’s untapped tourism potential.
The ceremony opened with remarks by Deputy Director Gohram Bakhshi Baloch, who emphasized the department’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable tourism. Assistant Director M. Younus Baloch welcomed the Guest of Honour, Syed Abul Hassan Miri, Cultural Attaché of Khana-e-Farhang Iran.
A panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Zahid Dashti Baloch, explored opportunities across Balochistan’s natural landscapes, cultural heritage, and archaeological sites. Panelists highlighted the need for infrastructure development, safety measures, digital marketing, and local capacity building.
Syed Abul Hassan Miri called for Pakistan-Iran tourism collaboration, suggesting joint eco-tourism ventures and cultural exchange programs. Prof. Dr. Zainab Bibi presented investment opportunities in community-based and sustainable tourism projects.
The event concluded with “Rang-e-Balochistan,” a cultural evening featuring traditional music, dance, and artisan exhibits.
Tourism officials reaffirmed their vision to position Balochistan as a leading destination through strategic partnerships and policy innovation. The celebration placed the province firmly on the tourism map—signaling a new era of growth, cooperation, and transformation.
