Balochistan Health Minister Takes Action After Pregnant Woman’s Death Due to Ambulance Unavailability

Quetta: Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has taken serious notice of the tragic incident in which a pregnant woman died en route to Kalat due to the unavailability of an ambulance. He has requested a report from the relevant authorities regarding the incident that occurred in the Gazg area.

Following the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Flight Lieutenant (Retired) Bilal Shabeer, the driver of the Basic Health Unit (BHU) Gazg, Muhammad Yousuf, has been immediately suspended for negligence and dereliction of duty. A report on the matter has been sought from the District Surveillance and Monitoring Officer (DSMO) PPHI.

The Health Minister emphasized that special instructions have been issued to the Deputy Commissioner, District Health Officer (DHO), and others to ensure the availability of facilities and ambulances in remote areas of the province. He stated that negligence in the medical field will not be tolerated.

Additionally, Kakar has urged Deputy Commissioner Flight Lieutenant (Retired) Bilal Shabeer, to conduct an immediate investigation with the relevant DHO and others to identify those responsible and initiate departmental action. He underscored that no one should be allowed to jeopardize precious human lives.
