Balochistan Health Card Program Successfully Treats Over 85,000 Patients in Nine Months:CEO BHCP

Quetta: A one-day training workshop under the Balochistan Health Card Program was held at Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering, and Management Sciences (BUITEMS) Quetta. The workshop was organized with support from GIZ German Cooperation and Khyber Medical University.

Key attendees included CEO of Balochistan Health Card Program, Asadullah Kakar, Technical Director Dr. Shahkoh Mengal, Admin Director Dr. Ahmad Wali, Dr. Maria Tareen, Dr. Bakht Kakar, along with District Health Officers, District Support Managers, Medical Superintendents, PPHI officers, and Benazir Income Support Program officials.

CEO Asadullah Kakar shared that over the past nine months, more than 85,000 patients have received free treatment for serious illnesses like cancer, kidney transplants, and heart diseases through the health card. The system is fully digital, requiring no recommendations, and every citizen’s CNIC serves as their health card.

The program allows treatment at over 1,200 hospitals nationwide, and eligibility can be checked by sending the CNIC number to helpline 8500.
