ISLAMABAD: Roads leading to Parliament House were reopened on Monday morning as the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition alliance Tehreek Tahafuz-i-Ayeen Pakistan (TTAP) continued their sit-in over the health of party founder Imran Khan, which entered its fourth day. The protest began on Friday after the Supreme Court was informed that only 15 per cent vision remained in Imran Khan’s right eye, triggering concern among opposition parties. Authorities had earlier blocked key routes to Parliament House ahead of the demonstration. make two best head line TTAP spokesperson Akhunzada Yousafzai told media that protesters, who had initially been holding sit-ins at Parliament House, Parliament Lodges and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House, had decided to merge the demonstrations. “Now that the government is going to submit a report on Imran Khan’s health to the Supreme Court, we will review it and decide our next course of action,” he said, adding that the sit-in would continue until their demands were met. The protest outside Parliament House has been led by TTAP chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, while PTI lawmakers staged a parallel demonstration at Parliament Lodges. A separate protest was held at KP House. On Sunday, a team of doctors examined Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and left after about an hour, according to sources. PTI later rejected the medical inspection, saying it was conducted without the presence of his family members or personal physicians, and termed it “malicious”. Earlier, PTI MNA Asad Qaiser said the party, along with the opposition alliance, would continue the sit-in to press for shifting Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. He also said the party planned to approach the Supreme Court to seek what he described as the former prime minister’s right to medical treatment.
