PAF and Bahrain National Guard Reaffirm Defence Cooperation During High-Level Meeting

Islamabad : General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, Commander of the Bahrain National Guard, called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.

Focus on Strategic Defence Cooperation

During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation, with special emphasis on joint training initiatives and deeper collaboration in the aviation industry.

Air Chief Marshal Sidhu warmly welcomed the visiting dignitary and briefed him on the modernization efforts of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). He outlined ongoing developments in infrastructure, training revamp, and the induction of niche capabilities to enhance PAF’s operational readiness and technological edge in multi-domain warfare.

Strengthening Historic Ties

The Air Chief highlighted the deep-rooted religious and historical ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, which continue to be reflected in their exemplary military-to-military cooperation. He reaffirmed his commitment to expanding bilateral defence relations, particularly in training, joint exercises, and knowledge-sharing.

Bahrain Praises PAF’s Performance

General Shaikh Mohammed Bin Isa Bin Salman Al Khalifa congratulated the Air Chief on the Pakistan Air Force’s performance in the recent conflict with India. He lauded the professionalism, operational readiness, and courage demonstrated by PAF personnel.

He expressed a strong desire for enhanced collaboration in the field of training and emphasized the importance of joint learning through bilateral exercises. The Commander also conveyed the keen interest of the Bahrain Air Force in launching joint training ventures with PAF as a platform for mutual growth and shared experience.

Commitment to Future Collaboration

The visit underscored the enduring bonds of brotherhood and defence partnership between the two nations. The visiting dignitary praised the PAF’s indigenization drive and its leadership’s commitment to regional peace and technological advancement.

As part of the outcomes of the meeting, it was mutually agreed that the Commander of the Bahrain Air Force will undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the near future as part of a series of follow-up engagements.
