GILGIT-BALTISTAN ASSEMBLY’S MULTI-PARTY DELEGATION MEETS CHAIRPERSON BISP, SENATOR RUBINA KHALID

Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held an important meeting today at the BISP Headquarters with a multi-party delegation from the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly. The delegation included Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Nazir Ahmed Advocate; Deputy Speaker, Ms. Sadia Danish; and prominent women members of the Assembly.
The delegation congratulated Senator Rubina Khalid on her election to the Senate of Pakistan for the third time. Members of the delegation included Ms. Dilshad Bano (Minister for Social Welfare), Ms. Suraya Zaman (Advisor on IT), Ms. Kulsoom Farman (President, Women’s Caucus, GB Assembly), Ms. Sanam Bibi (Chairperson, Standing Committee), and Mrs. Kaneez Fatima (Chairperson, Standing Committee).
During the meeting, the delegation shared key concerns regarding the challenges faced by underprivileged women in Gilgit-Baltistan, particularly difficulties related to BISP registration, disbursement of financial assistance, and other administrative hurdles.
Senator Rubina Khalid attentively listened to the issues raised and immediately instructed the Director General BISP Cash Transfers, to meet the delegation and take swift action to resolve all concerns on a priority basis.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to Senator Rubina Khalid for her personal interest and prompt response to the issues faced by the women of Gilgit-Baltistan. They also appreciated her efforts in promoting social welfare and reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the empowerment of women in the region through inclusive programs like BISP.
