Balochistan Cabinet Meeting Approves Key Security and Development Measures

Quetta: The Balochistan Provincial Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, convened at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Monday. The meeting began with a prayer for the martyrs of the recent bomb blast at Quetta Railway Station. The cabinet strongly condemned the terrorist attack and reaffirmed its commitment to fight terrorism with full strength and determination.

During the meeting, the Balochistan Security of Vulnerable Establishment Act 2024 was approved. This act aims to strengthen coordinated actions by various security agencies to restore peace in the province. The cabinet also gave approval for the establishment of new police stations in Rarah Sham and Kingri, as well as a new Levies Police station in Chaman under the Master Plan.

Additionally, the cabinet sanctioned the required funds for the Quetta Development Package, which will focus on the city’s infrastructure and beautification. The cabinet also approved the appointment of the Chairman and members for the Balochistan Sales Tax on Services Revenue Appellate Tribunal.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, emphasized the government’s firm resolve to combat terrorism and ensure lasting peace in the region. He highlighted the importance of coordinated efforts between the security forces, government, and the public to eliminate terrorism and restore peace. He further stated that the creation of new police and Levies stations would contribute to enhancing security measures in the province.

The Chief Minister also underscored the need for expanding the Quetta Development Package, given that the city is the face of the province. He assured that funds for the package would be released without delay.
The meeting was attended by provincial ministers, including Shoaib Nosherwani, Saleem Khoso, Asim Kurd Geloo, Haji Ali Madad Jatak, Noor Mohammad Dumar, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Bakhth Mohammad Kakar, and the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Shakeel Qadir Khan, along with other officials.
