Quetta : Leaders of the All Pakistan Federation of Trade Unions, including Mohammad Ramzan Achakzai, Mohammad Rafiq Lehri, Mohammad Yousaf Kakar, Wali Mohammad Kakar, Abdul Baqi Lehri, Mohammad Yar Alizai, and Syed Agha Mohammad, expressed their deep sorrow and condemnation in a joint press statement regarding the killing of 21 innocent workers and the severe injury of 6 others in Duki . They described the incident as an act of open terrorism and a complete violation of human, Islamic, and national values.

The leaders criticized the provincial government’s lack of effective response, stating that while verbal condemnations are made, no concrete actions are taken to protect the lives of laborers. They highlighted the government’s failure to prevent the ongoing killings of impoverished workers in Balochistan.

Calling for accountability, the federation has petitioned the Balochistan High Court to ensure the safety of miners, prosecute their killers, and provide compensation to affected families. They urged labor organizations across the country to unite in advocating for workers’ rights and demanded a review of international aid distribution to ensure it benefits the miners directly.
