QUETTA: The district administration of Quetta has finalized a detailed plan for the success of the upcoming anti-polio vaccination campaign starting on September 10, 2024.
At a DPEC meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Lieutenant (R) Saad bin Asad, arrangements for monitoring, training, and security were reviewed. Key officials, including Assistant Commissioners, health officers, and Union Council Coordinators, were present.
The plan aims to ensure every child under five receives the polio vaccine, with enhanced measures to address previous campaign shortcomings. Police lady constables will accompany teams, and families refusing the vaccine may face arrest. Mosque announcements will also support the campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Saad bin Asad emphasized the need for community cooperation and urged teachers and religious leaders to educate the public on the dangers of polio and the importance of prevention.
