NAB Balochistan to hold open court in Quetta on May 21

QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau Balochistan will hold an open court (Khuli Kachehri) in Quetta on May 21 to receive complaints from the public regarding mega financial scams in the province.

According to a statement issued by NAB Balochistan, the open court will be held from 11am to 1pm at the NAB Balochistan Complex on Shahra-e-Gulistan Road in Quetta.

The bureau said the initiative was being organised in compliance with the directives of the NAB chairman, under which open courts are held on the last Thursday of every month to facilitate members of the public.

The statement said the director general of NAB Balochistan would personally hear complaints and applications submitted by citizens.

Applicants have been asked to provide their name, parentage, copy of Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), complete postal address, thumb impression or signature, and contact details, including mobile or landline number and email address.

NAB said anonymous complaints would no longer be entertained under the revised standard operating procedures, adding that only verified complaints falling within the bureau’s jurisdiction would be processed in accordance with the law.

It added that complainants would also be required to submit an affidavit on stamp paper before further proceedings could be initiated.

The bureau said complaints could be lodged by post or in person at the NAB office on Shahra-e-Gulistan Road, through email at balochistan@nab.gov.pk, or at the NAB complaints office located at the DC Office on Anscomb Road in Quetta.

Citizens may also submit complaints directly during the open court session with the NAB director general, the statement added.
