ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday visited SANY Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. in Changsha, Hunan province, China, where he was briefed on the company’s advanced manufacturing systems, product lines and research and development initiatives.
According to the President Secretariat Media Wing, Chairman SANY Group Tang Xiuguo briefed the president on the company’s operations, including its core segments of concrete machinery, excavators, cranes, piling equipment and road machinery. Vice Mayor of Changsha Qian Lixia was also present.
The president was informed that SANY recorded an operating revenue of $11.27 billion in 2024, reflecting its global industrial footprint and sustained investment in innovation.
President Zardari also visited the company’s flagship No. 18 Factory, a digitally integrated facility featuring high automation and data-driven production systems. He noted the significance of such technologies for countries aiming to modernise industrial production and improve efficiency.
He was accompanied by Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Ali Hassan Barohi, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Sindh Chief Minister on Investment and PPP projects, the Sindh chief secretary, as well as Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi and China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong.
The president appreciated SANY’s technological advancement and stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in industrial technology, skill development, and joint ventures to support Pakistan’s infrastructure and industrial growth.
He also highlighted potential collaboration in construction machinery, digital manufacturing, clean energy and engineering solutions. SANY leadership reiterated its commitment to expanding cooperation with Pakistan in manufacturing, technology exchange and capacity building.
