Iran FM Araghchi to revisit Pakistan after Oman trip, says state media

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is scheduled to return to Pakistan after completing his visit to Oman, before travelling onward to Russia, according to Iranian state media.

The IRNA news agency, quoting the foreign ministry, reported that Mr Araghchi would revisit Islamabad after concluding talks in Oman, despite having left Pakistan earlier the same day.

It said part of his delegation had returned to Tehran for consultations and to obtain necessary instructions on issues related to ending the ongoing regional conflict. The delegation is expected to rejoin him in Islamabad on Sunday night.

Meanwhile, Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said an Iranian delegation was visiting Oman for the first time since the outbreak of the Middle East war, which he said had affected the wider region.

In a post on X, Mr Baghaei said Iran continued to place great importance on relations with Gulf states and remained committed to strengthening mutual trust and constructive cooperation.

He added that ties between Tehran and Muscat reflected Iran’s policy of pursuing respectful and mutually beneficial relations with its southern neighbours.
