RAWALPINDI, : The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has rejected the exemption plea of Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, in the November 26 protest case linked to Police Station Sadiqabad, and issued fresh arrest warrants against her.
Judge Syed Amjid Ali Shah took up the case for hearing on Monday. During the proceedings, Aleema Khan’s defence counsel requested a two-day exemption, citing her involvement in matters related to Imran Khan’s health.
The court, however, denied the plea and adjourned the case for further hearing until Tuesday.
Aleema Khan’s exemption request was based on her claim that she was occupied with her brother’s medical issues, a matter that has drawn nationwide attention. The case pertains to demonstrations held on November 26, which led to multiple legal proceedings against PTI leaders and supporters.
