Balochistan CM Urges Youth to Unite Against Corruption

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti emphasized that combating corruption is a collective responsibility and called on the youth to work towards a transparent and prosperous Balochistan. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Inter-University Sports Festival at BUITEMS on Anti-Corruption Day, he highlighted corruption as the province’s biggest challenge affecting governance and social trust.

Bugti announced the launch of Balochistan’s first-ever Youth Policy, urging young people to reject anti-state propaganda and contribute positively to national development. He stressed merit-based recruitment, citing the hiring of 12,000 to 16,000 teachers purely on merit, and pledged to expand sports infrastructure for youth engagement.

To tackle corruption, the government is strengthening oversight bodies like NAB and the Anti-Corruption Establishment, ensuring accountability free from political interference. Bugti underscored transparency by sharing a case where a report was filed against his own brother.

He called on all citizens to uphold integrity and praised the Sports Festival for promoting discipline and teamwork. The event was also addressed by Advisor Meena Majeed Baloch, DG NAB Nauman Aslam, and BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Dr. Khalid Hafeez.
