NEW YORK – In a powerful display of unity and patriotism, leaders of the Pakistan American Society (PAS) declared that promoting Pakistan’s image is the shared responsibility of all overseas Pakistanis. The statement was made during a vibrant Pakistan Day celebration held in Little Pakistan, Coney Island.
Shams Zaman (President), Salman Butt (Senior Vice President), Shahzad Anwar (Vice President), and Ashraf Chaudhry (General Secretary) emphasized their commitment to defending Pakistan’s reputation abroad. “We will keep Pakistan’s flag flying high in America and will not tolerate any negative remarks against our homeland,” they said in a joint statement.
Salman Butt, a well-known community leader and CEO of Red Lipstick Art & Entertainment, passionately remarked, “Pakistan is our life and our identity. Overseas Pakistanis are always ready to make sacrifices for the country.”
He praised the Pakistani-American community’s unwavering love for Pakistan and highlighted the soul-stirring national song performance by Ustad Hamid Ali Khan in Jersey City as a memorable expression of patriotism.
Butt also played a key role in organizing Pakistan Day events across New York and New Jersey, uniting the community in remembrance of Pakistan’s martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation.
PAS Vice President Shahzad Anwar added, “Our hearts beat for Pakistan. On this special day, the entire community stands together in love and solidarity with our homeland.”
In recognition of his outstanding community service, New York State Senator Stephen honored Salman Butt with a citation during the event, acknowledging his dedication to fostering unity and cultural pride among Pakistani-Americans.
