ISLAMABAD :Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday said paid tribute to Naik Saif Ali Janjua Shaheed, Hilal-i-Kashmir (Nishan-e-Haider), on his 78th martyrdom anniversary, commending his exemplary bravery and sacrifice to safeguard the homeland.
The prime minister, in a message on the anniversary, said that during the 1948 war, Naik Saif Ali Janjua bravely repelled intense attacks by a cowardly enemy during the 1948 war. He added that during the war of independence, the martyr demonstrated exemplary courage to foil the assaults of an enemy arrogant of numerical strength and resources.
He said that despite being injured during the war, Naik Saif Ali Janjua led his military unit with immense bravery, fought against the enemy till his last breath, and ultimately embraced martyrdom.
The prime minister said that his eternal sacrifice for the motherland was a source of pride for the entire nation as he fulfilled his duty as a son of the Kashmir Valley, and his historic sacrifice was proof of his eternal love for the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that the sacrifices of the martyrs, the firm resolve of the brave soldiers, and the entire nation’s love for the motherland were undoubtedly the guarantors of the country’s defense, and protection of freedom, security, and sovereignty.
He said that the entire nation saluted the patriotism and dedication of all martyrs and prayed to Allah Almighty to elevate the ranks of all martyrs of the nation.
