Quetta ; In a tragic incident in southwestern Balochistan’s District Duki, unidentified armed assailants attacked a local coal company, resulting in the deaths of 20 miners and injuries to seven others. According to Duki’s SHO, Hamayun Khan Nasir, the attackers gathered the workers in groups before opening fire and also set fire to mining machinery.
The deceased miners included Abdul Malik, Mola dad, Syedullah, Jalal Khan, Fazal, Rozi Khan, Naseebullah, Samiullah, Abdullah, Maling, Hamdullah, Abdullah, Jalal Khan, Bismillah, Samad Khan, Wali Muhammad, Abdul Wali, Ghulam Ali, and Hayatullah.
Among the 20 deceased workers, 2 were from Afghanistan, 3 from Pishin, 1 from Kuchlak, 4 from Qila Saifullah, 3 from Zhob, and 1 from Harnai and 1 from District Musakhail. Additionally, 7 workers were injured in the attack.
Balochistan’s Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti condemned the murder of innocent workers, stating that terrorists have once again targeted vulnerable laborers with extreme brutality. He urged that these terrorists must be brought to justice, asserting, “Victory in the fight against terrorism will prevail, and these criminals will face the consequences.”
