PFF launches injury prevention workshop for district coaches

LAHORE – The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is set to conduct a free online Injury Prevention and Management Workshop for district coaches across the country as part of preparations for the District Football Championship (DFC) 2026 and its broader player-safeguarding initiative supported by the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF). The workshop will be held region-wise, with coaches from Punjab, Sindh and Islamabad Capital Territory participating on September 9, followed by KP and AJK on September 10, and Balochistan and GB on September 11. Each session will run from 10:30am to 11:30am. Each district may nominate up to three coaches, preferably D-licensed, for the programme. Pakistan national team physiotherapist Dr Adnan Mohammed will lead the sessions, focusing on player welfare, injury prevention and basic risk-management principles, followed by a dedicated question-and-answer session. PFF Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Shahid Niaz Khokhar said the initiative aimed to strengthen professional standards throughout the football structure. “Player welfare has to be built into the game at every level, starting with the coaches shaping it in the districts,” he said.
