ISLAMABAD: Talal Chaudhry on Friday rejected what he termed “misleading and baseless propaganda” regarding the health of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, saying claims circulating on social media were contrary to verified medical facts.
In a statement posted on X, the state minister said the PTI founder was being examined regularly by a senior medical board comprising specialists, including cardiologists, ophthalmologists, ENT experts and dental surgeons.
“All treatment is being conducted strictly in accordance with international medical standards,” Mr Chaudhry said.
He stated that the PTI founder had undergone multiple eye procedures at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad under specialist supervision and claimed that his eyesight had been restored to “6/6” after treatment.
The minister further said the Supreme Court of Pakistan had also expressed satisfaction over the medical report submitted by jail authorities.
“The reality is that perhaps no prisoner in Pakistan’s history has received such facilities. His eye has not been damaged. Stop trying to deceive the nation,” Mr Chaudhry wrote on X.
He alleged that after the failure of “protests, arson and politics of chaos”, attempts were now being made to gain political sympathy through what he described as misinformation regarding the PTI founder’s health.
Mr Chaudhry urged the public not to be influenced by politically motivated claims, insisting that the medical reports and treatment records reflected the actual situation.
