ANTALYA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, with both leaders reaffirming the long-standing strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.
President Erdogan welcomed the prime minister and appreciated Pakistan’s participation in the forum, while reiterating Türkiye’s support for Islamabad’s diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Turkish leadership for its hospitality and congratulated them on hosting the forum, describing it as an important platform for global diplomatic engagement.
The two leaders discussed regional developments, particularly the situation in the Middle East, and stressed the need to fully utilise the current diplomatic window to advance peace efforts. They also reviewed ongoing initiatives to strengthen cooperation in various sectors.
Both sides agreed to further deepen bilateral ties and decided to hold the 8th High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting in Ankara later this year, alongside accelerating existing joint projects and exploring new avenues of economic collaboration.
